Shigmotsav  Shigmotsav or shigmo is a vibrant and joyous festival celebrated primarily in Goa. this festival deeply embedded in the cultural and religious tradition of the region show cases a blend of indigenous rituals folk dance, parades and vivid colour of life in Goa.  Shigmotsav is celebrated by the local hindu community and has become a significant attractions for both domestic and international tourists eager to witness the rich culture and heritage of this coastal state. The origin of shigmotsav can be traced back to ancient agricultural traditions and the hindu mythology associated with the region. It is celebrated during the phalguna month of Hindu lunar calender  Typically in March aligning with the full moon and end of the winter heralding the renewal brought by spring.  This festival is akin to the holi festival celebrated in other parts of India though shigmo has its unique Goan flavours and series of events.
